Image shows the basement level of the Adler Plantarium in its initial construction phase. The floor of the first level, as well as ductwork, is complete overhead. The basement floor is finished. A typewritten inscription on the front of the photograph in the lower left-hand corner reads: '9/11/29 - Basement looking So. East, Adler Planetarium, Grant Park, Chicago, Ernest A.
