Scope and Content
The Research Files series contains information gathered by the Websters on topics related to historical scientific instruments and the history of astronomy. Materials include notes, correspondence, articles, publications, rough drafts, photographs, and transparencies. The Websters organized these files in alphabetical order, mixing both author and subject files in one system. The Research Files are primarily maintained in their original order. Some sub-series were created for topics with multiple folders. These sub-series are arranged chronologically or alphabetically, as appropriate.
