The Lunar Landing Training Vehicle was a most valuable trainer for astronauts in landing on the Moon. A gimballed jet engine driven by a computer was utilized to provide flight response similar to the 1/6 gravity field of the Moon. Every lunar astronaut who landed on the Moon rated the LLTV most valuable of the trainers for the actual landing and maneuvering to the Moon. It was also the most dangerous, as two pilots, including Neil Armstrong, had to eject during training and parachute the ground.
