Chesley Bonestell worked for Willis Polk from about 1913 to 1918, and would have created this sketch within his first year working there. Willis Polk was an architect in San Francisco at the time. Polk helped to redesign and build many buildings after after the 1906 earthquake, including the Chronicle Building (located within this sketch).
