On the back of this plexi-framed needlepoint is a typed note on the letterhead of Robert S. Adler, 134 South LaSalle Street, Chicago, IL 60603. It states: The Adler Planetarium & Astronomical Museum, Chicago, IL / The needlepoint representation was worked by Helen L. Adler (Mrs. Robert S.) daughter-in-law of Max Adler who established the Planetarium in 1930. The canvas was designed in London, England by an unnamed Artist working from photographs. Mrs. Henry Friend of the Needlery selected the artist, supplied the yarn, arranged for the unique framing and assisted with technical problems. The worked was started in 1975 and finished in 1977.
