A rectangular brass trough containing a similar wooden trough, and a brass-framed roof-shaped cover. Two sides of the cover have glass panels at an angle of 90 degrees. A boxwood mercury jar (filled!) with a turned ivory funnel. The wooden mercury trough has ivory entrance and exit apertures for the mercury. Mahogany fitted carrying case.
