Pear-shaped bulb with screw on lid. Horizontal sundial inside lid. For-latitude 47°. Hinged gnomon with scalloped edge; engraved with scrolling leaves. In lower half of bulb, a bilevel compass of 16 points and 0-180/0-180° every 1°. Points labelled in French. Crudely engraved. Replacement, blue/silver needle type 7; needle brake.
