Sundial, Horizontal: Chinese, String-gnomon

Cardboard, paper and fabric case. Pierced silvered brass base cast with floral decorations. Base rests on three leveling screws. Missing two of three red-glass spheres on top of leveling screws. Inset compass with enameled rose. Blued need type 16. Hours scale in red and black on a chipped, enameled arc. With original cardboard case lined in red paper and covered with black and white woven fabric.
