[nb-NO]Description[nb-NO]
Mechanical log, consisting of a brass propeller connected by gear work to two dials with pointers. The right dial runs from 0 to 160 (fathoms?) by 20; the left dial from 0-20 by 1 (feet?). Stopping bracket with a fin, that can fall left or right, to block the propeller. Propeller, gear, dials, stopping bracket and dials are contained in an open circular brass frame with eyelets at either end; one for connecting to the log line (missing), the other to a fin (missing) to prevent the log from rotating in the water.
