Horizontal pin-gnomon dial for latitude 43° as labeled. Oval hour plate with inset compass box. Italian hours marked in altering Arabic and Roman numerals. Compass plate except for an offset meridian arrow (about 12°W). Shagreen-covered wooden case, velvet-lined, with brass hardware.
