Circular-hinged sector. Held closed by two embedded tabs-into-slots. Hinge engraved with foliage pattern on both sides. Adjacent to hinge on legs, more foliage and flowers resembling thistles. Scale lines extended onto center pivot, contributed by one leg, do not align with scale lines extended onto the outer circle of hinge, contributed by other leg. Alignment occurs when sector is open to 20 degree angle. Reason unclear. Usual English type double sector. No additional scales.

"Edm. Culpeper fecit" on sector.

"Polygons" engraved directly on split of sector.
