Very clearly marked, overall good condition. Circular silver hinge. Sector is held closed by 2 silver pins (one missing). Usual English-type lines and scales on both faces. All line designators in capital letters. Lines of equal parts, chords, sines, tangents (0-45 degrees), artificial tangents, and Gunter's line of numbers terminate in silver nail heads. Small hole in each nail head to mark exact end of line. Split of legs is marked above and below with line of polygons.

"J. CAIL/ NEWCASTLE. ON. TYNE" on lower leg.

"POL" engraved directly on split.

"J. CAIL" on side A upper leg.
