Dividers: With screw adjustment

Large iron dividers with screw adjustment. Long joint with brass disc between two juncture points of the joint. Protruding rivet and rivet caps on joint. Legs adjacent to hinge of instrument are scalloped, then cut like architectural moulding. Major portion of legs are worked to have diagonal, ribbon-wrapped appearance. Points have round cross section. Screw adjustment is attached to dividers by gilt brass rings extending through legs, with ornate finial caps on the other side. Screw itself is iron. Screw heads are wing nut type, pierced in leaf or floral design. Brass collar around center section of screw.
