Circular polished brass box of which the lid that when screwed on the back serves as handle. The index arm is moved by a gear and a milled screw let into the upper plate. One shade (red) moved by lever. Horizon glass adjustment only, by square-headed screws and milled key stored in the upper plate. Magnifier (single lens) on a swiveling arm. Sliding shutter with choice of open pinhole or a shade (red).
