German names of weekdays with symbols of ruling planets; decorative bandwork; mythographic representations of the planets (e.g. Saturn eating his son); brass disk with days of month (1-31); brass, notched volvelle with turning knob; abbreviated German names of weekdays alongside of notch; notched and pierced brass volvelle revealing month and number of days; dates of festivals, zodiacal symbol and date sun enters sign; lengths of day and night; times of sunrise and sunset.
verso--plain except for brass disk securing the volvelle mechanism to the plate. Two matchmarks (V, X) to aid in orientating this disk and assembling instrument.
