Arcs of boxwood; limbs of mahogany. Original wooden vanes; notched shadow vane, pin-hole sight vane; slit horizon vane. Signed on boxwood plate inset in horizon limb. Space for owner's name to be inserted. Greater arc, 0-65 every one degree. Short arc, 65-90 degrees every 10 degrees on inner edge, and 0-25 degrees every 10 degrees on outer edge; by transversals to one degree. Star border decoration; scrolling end. Brass rivets. The vanes have flat brass pressure springs for securing them to the arcs. Lens is not there.
