Kenneth Wolf and an unidentified man polishing mirrors in the Optical Shop.

Wolf (right) appears to be polishing an 8" mirror and the unidenfied man (left) appears to be polishing a 6" mirror. The cleats on the barrel tops indicate that they are polishing rather than grinding. The barrels were 55 gallon drums filled with sand from nearby 12th Street Beach to keep them stable. The black stands at the righ of the image t are components of the Hindle Test for classical Cassegrain secondary mirrors.
