Directors' Reference Files

The Directors' Reference Files consist of astronomical and other scientific publications collected by the Office of the Director at the Adler Planetarium & Astronomy Museum. The bulk of the materials are from the years preceding the Adler Planetarium's 1930 opening and from the terms of both first director Philip Fox (1929-1937) and acting director Maude Bennot (1937-1945). The collection is comprised of original and reprint copies of astronomical research journals, general scientific articles, university theses, and observatory reports.
