Turned, cylindrical compass box. Pressure fitting lid missing. Compass bowl painted silver with inked cardinal points. Rose of 12 points divided into quarters of outer rim. The north point is in red. Blue needle type 57. Corded brass wire secures glazing. Three holes in compass box; holes do not seem designed to attach a lubber's line.
