Round box with perpetual calendar on top and bottom. Inside plain. Very similar to M-376. Labeled in Italian. Probably designed to store an Augsburg-type dial within it. Possibly made in Augsburg for an Italian patron.
recto--box cover. Days of month (1-31) on silvered disk; notched volvelle with running leaf decoration; initials of weekdays along notch; age of moon (1-29.5); silver volvelle with pointer; aperture showing lunar phases and stars; aspectarium.
verso--notched and pierced volvelle for festivals and feast days which appear on silver disk beneath. Months and number of days; dates of festivals in German; zodiacal constellation image; lengths of day and night; times of sunrise and sunset; tendrils. Foliate arabesques.
