Octagonal wooden ell with ivory labels and an ivory collar around the head. Faces of ivory collar are decorated in an alternating geometric then foliate pattern. Rod has 40 parabolic-cut notches, 5 per side, ranging from large at the head to very small at the foot, but maintaining roughly the same shape.
