The Adler Planetarium Institutional Records consist of materials created or received by the Adler Planetarium that have relevance to the historical development of the museum and its functions over time. Such records include (but are not limited to): legal records, financial reports, administrative documents, meeting minutes, policies, procedures, publications, press releases, correspondence, architectural plans, memorabilia, photographs, research notes, and papers of integral persons. Founders, officers, consultants, committee members and employees created the bulk of this documentation. The institution's organizational structure has grown and evolved over the life of the museum. The series in this collection represent a functional melding of these transformations.
