Gray and white plastic spacecraft "Gemini" mounted on a clear acrylic ovaloid base under a clear acrylic arch. Detaches into four parts.
Object Story
This two-man spacecraft was divided into two sections: the pressurized re-entry module the astronauts rode in front and the two-part adapter module in back. The re-entry module had a nose design to dock with the Agena rocket and hinged doors to allow the astronauts to leave the ship for spacewalks. The adapter module comprised the retrograde module, which had braking rockets that slowed the craft for maneuvering, and the equipment module, which housed most of the crew’s life support systems as well as propellant tanks. The entire adapter module was jettisoned before re-entry.
