Baromtre liégeois; a type of air thermoscope popluar in the Low Countries. Tear-shaped glass vessel with flattened back for hanging against wall. S-shaped spout. Suspension eyelet. Knob at base. Level of liquid in spout is dependent on temperature and pressure of air enclosed in vessel. In a room of constant temperature, the instrument behaves like a baroscope.
