Needham type A. Red and black ink. Lacquered wood. For latitude 34° (as measured). Huaibei, Xuchang and Xi'an are roughly at this latitude. Wooden lunar vovelle and equatorial sun and moon-dial. Age of moon. Volvelle with pointer. Double-hours. Brass rivet with hole to inset pin-gnomon (missing).
