Triangular Quadrant: John Brown-type

Instrument that can be used as a sector, protractor, quadrant and Gunter's rule. Arched sector hinge; plates and center disc are brass, main hinge parts are wood. Double pin alignment. Brass studs with dimple in center mark various key points on the scales. Instrument has slots for, but lacks, the cross piece that would have held the instrument open to a given angle. Also has a perpetual calendar, a table of 12 stops for finding time at night, a zodiac/calendar scale, a table for finding days of the week, leap years, and epacts and many other tables and scales. Strut missing.
