Adler Planetarium under construction, basement looking northeast

Image shows the basement level of the Adler Plantarium during its initial construction phase. The first level floor has been completed, and there is a unit made of wodden supports directly under this floor in the center. A typewritten inscription in the lower right-hand corner of the photograph reads: '8/9/1929 - Basement looking No. East, Adler Planetarium, Grant Park, Chicago, Ernest A. Grunsfeld, Jr., Archt., B-W Construction Co., Builders.'
