Vatican Observatory

Prints made from photographs of the night sky taken with telescopes from the Vatican Observatory in Italy between 1901 and 1918 as part of the Carte du Ciel celestial mapping project. The photographs are centered horizontally at declinations of +55, +56, +57 and +61 and vertically at right ascensions ranging from 0 hours, 6 minutes through 23 hours, 54 minutes. The vertical center of each print is generally 12 minutes of right ascension away from the previous.
