The first level floor has been completed, and there is a unit made of wodden supports directly under this floor in the center. A typewritten inscription in the lower right-hand corner of the photograph reads: '8/9/1929 - Basement looking No. East, Adler Planetarium, Grant Park, Chicago, Ernest A. Grunsfeld, Jr., Archt., B-W Construction Co., Builders.'
