Irregularly shaped, silvered brass plate struck as a coin or medal. Suspension eyelet on top. Calendar scale in relief in a double arc, marked with the initials of months and divided into 10-day intervals. Pivoting pointer on same side with a hinged pin-gnomon. For latitude (approx.) 40°. Leather-covered case lined with purple velvet and silk.
