Base for a universal ring dial. Round base resting on 3 leveling screws. In, center a compass made by Short & Mason Ltd., London. Glass cracked. Silvered plate; bar needle, type 31, with brake. Gazetteer engraved around compass. Two folding supports intended to hold the meridian ring of a universal ring dial (missing).
