Brass semi-circular protractor with index arm. Base line of protractor has raised, open circle over which is fitted the larger circle at the base of the index arm. Base line showing through aperture has been cut away, leaving a quadrant, the edge and point of which mark the center for measuring angles. Index arm has scalloped edges and end; both arm and circle base are engraved with foliage. Base line of protractor is cut to create foliate-engraved tab extension on left side for index arm to rest on; right side also extends beyond degree ring, with scalloped, foliate-engraved end.
