Invented and patented by J. G. Parvin. Has a planispheric projection of the zodiacal constellations rotating with in the observer's oval horizon. Mounted to the center and moving with the planispheric card are rotating brass "sun" and "planet" arms. Philips' Orrey: planet finder. Square cornerred flat holder, with corner pierced for hanging, has gilt leather front and instructions printed on reverse. Holder contains round paperboard disk printed with constellations and various lettering (months, planets, etc.). Two brass pointerrs rotate on a central device which has a knurled knob; the end of the central pin is hidden below the instructions on the reverse of the orrey. A turned painted wood "washer" raises the pointer 1.5 cm away from dial. TF 12/97.
