Object Story
Gemini spacecraft docked to an Agena rocket in vertical position. Agena rocket was used as a rendezvous target and a power plant for achieving large orbital changes in preparation for the journey to the Moon later with Apollo. One of the most important objectives of Gemini was to practice spacecraft rendezvous and docking maneuvers, maneuvers that would later be used extensively in the Apollo Moon missions. The Agena rocket was used not only as a rendezvous to propel the Gemini to record breaking altitudes.
