Brass gimbals, aluminium compass card, and lead weight, fitted in a wooden box with removable cover, wind rose of 128 points. The inner plate of the card showing A.M. and P.M. can be rotated by hand by four brass studs. Bearing device with a sight tube for fitting in the centre of the card, an unidentified piece is missing. The box has two brass latch hooks, and leather handles. The inside of the lid has stuck-on printed instructions.
