On the interior, four uprights running across each corner elevate the intrument and hold it in place. The interior is covered with white shiny paper. A flat, circular instrument made with aluminum holding ring holding printed paper stellar charts on both sides. Metal pointers rotate on a central axis, a screw together "rivet." The longitude and latitude chart on the reverse is covered with clear synthetic sheet film, and the star and month chart on the front is printed paper with a now yellowed coating. On the reverse, the aluminum holding ring has painted on section lines made with a thick, now yellowed organic material. (TF 12/97).
