Brass gimbaled compass bowl with a transparent compass card (dial) under a glass plate over which is a fixed azimuth circle. The azimuth circle can be clamped; it has a black mirror and a bubble level. The dial can be illuminated from below by electric light bulb, fed from a vessel's power. A brass lid to cover the bowl. Wooden case with lift-off cover, brass latches and handles. Green felt lining. Instruction card with makers name stuck inside.
