Poor copy of an English ring dial, c. 1650. Fixed (rather than sliding) suspension ring mounted over a slot intersected by perpendicular engraved lines. Stamped next to these lines and starting under the suspension point are altitude numbers 90, 80, 70, 60 followed by the initials of months. Inside the ring is a rectangular hour scale labeled in Roman numerals and zodiacal symbols of equinoxes and solstices.
