Lignum vitae staff, no vanes. Replacement vanes have been added. Graduated for altitude and zenith distance. A hole has been pierced through the staff at the eye-end, and possibly shortened. The sides of the staff are graduated for both altitude and zenith distance. Ratio of crosses: 1 : 3-1/2 : 4 : 6.
